Frayed

Frayed-To wear away, the edges of fabric for example, by rubbing.
the most common example of this would be on denim, such as cut off shorts. fraying gives a more worn in look and can make a garment look old or vintage.
making clothes appear frayed or worn is an ongoing trend in fashion. customising your clothes in this way makes them more personalised.in order to fray clothes you need to wash them first to ensure shrinkage will occur before the fraying process. you can frayed denim by making small cuts with a scissors along the edges and then rubbing them for a while to make them appear distressed, you can also make rips up along the legs, for a Balmain inspired look. Sandpaper is also a good way to achieve a frayed look on most fabrics. repeatedly rubbing the sandpaper over the surface of the fabric will make it appear distressed and old.
