recycling and sustainability is becoming more popular these days and fashion designers are picking up on this, using materials such as cloth, cans, plastic and paper to create new designs.
Designer Paco Rabanne was a pioneer in this. Rabanne was fascinated with new products and materials as a result of war technologies. breaking away from traditional couture conventions, he began experimenting with materials such as metal, paper, and plastic and combined knit, fur and leather together. instead of using fabrics, he used geometric pieces of plastic and metal which were linked together t create a garment.
