we were given a project related to the senses. though this we chose  words which we created mood boards and swatchs for. we were asked to chose one board which we would work to build a sculpture piece and gament from.my word was-Poisonous.
the swatch i created consisted of glued pills onto leather and covered by lace,to hide the tablets.the project was inspired by hidden drug abuse in high society. i based it on the glamous ladies who would abuse drugs in secret,yet remain immaculately presented. the fans i used in the sculpture were based on a commonly associated accessory these women would carry. i placed pills and pearls in the fans,which inspired the title.
following the shape up project we did, i obtained my design. it was to be a neckpiece which would be made of pleated leather, to mimic the fans, and pearls pills and lace.the garment was constructed from 6 pieces of pleated leather, which were decorated with the pearls and pills, and finally covered with lace. i added 8 corset eyes for the fastening, which is drawn together with black ribbon.
